Dripping fuel at the moment

Featured Replies

Just a quick question. Seeing as it isn't a good thing for a car to be dripping fuel, I was after a quick answer to what's under the offside rear footwell in terms of fuel? Is it the filter, pump or something else? A reasonably quick response would be appreciated folks.;)

Fuel filter is around there.

Fingers crossed then. Is it a simple job to change to a new one?

If that's where the filter is, the lines must be there too; take a look before buying a new filter.

Would they be perished or need replacing when the car is only an 06 plate?

The fuel filter & fuel lines are in that area, have you run over somthing in the road or grounded the car out on rough ground at all? you may of caught the fuel lines & damaged them, ive had fuel filters corrode & leak, has it ever been changed? the fuel lines are plastic so cant rust, hopefully its just a rusty or split fuel filter that can easily be replaced, either way it needs fixing asap:thumbup:

Aside from what Mikey says (all possible), I was thinking about a joint not being properly sealed or remade if the filter's been replaced.

:iagree:has the filter been replaced recently?

Update : Thanks for all the replies folks.

I called Skoda Assistance and they fixed it for five pounds (new filter). Hopefully this is the end of it as the smell of fuel has gone. Good job really as I couldn't afford to loose too much V-Power!

As for the question about whether the filter had been damaged or replaced, it was the original and there was a tiny hole in the casing. It looked as though a stone could have pierced it.

Panic over and now my daughters can be transported in relative safety again.

p.s. It took about three hours for them to turn up - good job I was at home...
