1999 Felicia GLi 1.9 Diesel Electrical Fault.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to Skoda's too. I biught a Felicia 1999 GLi 1.9 Diesel yesterday. Didn't have a problem then.

Got up this morning, went to start it, and nothing, engine wouldn't turn. Checked starter motor and it is ok. It is not getting current to the solanoid (sorry if this is spelt wrong) through the yellow wire. I was wondering if the 12v wire goes through a relay? If so, which relay is it?

If anyone has any advice or has had a similar problem, could you please let me know a.s.a.p as its blcoking my drive!!!!

Many thanks

the yellow wire comes from the ignition switch 'start' position, it's not through a relay. it's fairly common for the ignition switch to bust, as a temporary fix to get it moving you could just 'join' a piece of wire to it and touch it on the + battery terminal to get it going
