Problems trying to replace Bolero with 2-DIN JVC....

This seems to be the problem. While even steering remote works when connected with that wiring (at least some functions...), and power comes on and off perfectly when turning the key, there is no SOUND !!

We think that the problem is that the "sound -system" (superb elegance)

doesn`t get the info to turn itself on, so there is no sound.

Has anyone got any f...ing idea how to fix the problem ? Giving up is not on option....:orb_no_no

Hello, anyone ? I know that the problem is that damn CAN-BUS something....the amplifier doesn`t get the needed information when the radio is turned on. I know that for example MAYBE Dietz-firm offers a solution, but I have to wait what they have to say next week. :rotz:

What exactly does your Superb have already fitted? Is it an upgraded sound system, with an amplifier/digital process unit already fitted? Sorry, don't know much about what the new Superb is running.

Steve

P.S. If you fancy selling your Bolero on, drop me a PM :)

You have the same issues in the octy if its fitted with the upgraded sound system.

You are really stuck with the oem headunit unless you want to rip out the amp and rewire all the speakers. The problem is as you say canbus related, the bolero tells the amp to come on over canbus. Unless the JVC can do the same then you are stuck.

If you do manage to get it working dont forget to use the line outputs on the JVC, and not speaker level otherwise things will get VERY loud Very quickly.

Actually, I think that this can be solved. One octy -06 owner ordered that can-bus- interface and suitable wires from Dietz, and that sound system works just fine. So I have no plans to give up yet.

Now I`m waiting for a delivery from germany, and IF it doesn`t work, I`m so ****ed off !!

The dealer and the importer don`t seem very helpful, even though I know that the manufacturer knows how to fix this problem. How do I know that ? Simply because THEY DESIGNED this system, so they MUST know all about it !!

And if I don`t get any help from them, then maybe, just maybe, my next car won`t start with the letter S....:thumbdwn:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got that wiring diagrams from ERWIN, the one behind the radio and the one by the amplifier. When I disconnect the amplifier, it doesn`t affect any of the car`s functions, not even the radio`s, only the sound will disappear.

So, maybe, one way of doing this replacement would be this : when all the speaker wires come directly to the amplifier, it would be quite easy to throw that original amplifier away and put on ordinary one in it`s place. Robbing those speaker wires would be easy, we would`t even have to cut those original wires. RCA-wires from the amplifier to JVC and that would be the end of that. ??

But I won`t do anything until I get those Dietz-wires from germany....

It`s a surprise that the manufacturer`s info answered, and told that they will consult a specialist and get back to me next week.....

And that german web-store informed me that my shipment has been sent....another !!

The first shipment, "blue generation" wiring, didn`t work, but this morning I got an other shipment, the 3rd generation can-bus followed by the wiring harness for VW and a steering remote harness for JVC, and IT WORKS !!!!!!!

But first, I connected the wires, and NO SOUND.

We looked at the connections closely in the afternoon, disconnected the amplifier, put it back, and BANG, the sound was here !! And now it works.:thumbup:

So, if anyone with a new superb or octavia with Sound System want to replace the head unit, the answer is DIETZ 2nd or 3rd generation can-bus. :D:D
