Got up nice and early and headed over to Awesome GTI in Manchester this morning for my remap!

What can i say? Great guys, great place, and a great service, Oh and what an awesome remap!

Ran 143BHP with 259 lb ft of torque before with PD160 in take and pipercross filter.

Came out with 176BHP and 322 ft-lbs of torque after remap!

Got to be happy with that

Lets see how long the clutch lasts! ha ha

Ha ha! my mate needed his bushes cutting down so i said id give him a hand!

He was reading performance VW in the waiting room and said he could see himself going the VAG way, but doubt he will get rid of his scoob.

Thats a nice amount of power, slightly more than my octi but your car is a couple of hundred kg's less so I can only imagine how much more pokey it must feel.

Not all require a clutch after the remap

But on the 6 speed cars , it is getting more common

I wouldn't take it that Remap = new clutch

I've been running a Jabbasport custom map with near idenitcal figures to the OP on a 50k '04 plate VRS since November and never had any slip.

Na, i wouldnt say if your thinking of a remap dont get it incase you have to replace the clutch.

I think the clutch could of been on its way out anyway, had it sipping before in 6th.

They can lower the figures if u like? i think.....

But whats the point having a remap if ur going to do it half arsed?

im going to get a decent clutch so i can drive it how i want and not be scared of hurting it.

However, i would say, be prepared just incase.....

wish it was just a clutch.....theres everything else that goes with it......DMF, Release bearing, fitting.....im lookin at at least 1k.
