Road Tax Bands?

Featured Replies

I own a Skoda Fabia 1.4 Petrol 51 Plate. The DVLA says this car produces 170 G/KM of CO2 but this seems pretty high. I can't definately id my model in all the new literature but it seems most Skodas of this size put it in the 150 G/KM band which is about £25 quid difference over the year. Can anyone help?

I have contacted Skoda as they would need to write to the DVLA anyway to ever change this but it would be nice to know if I should try and take it further.

Each car is individually tested and that value is assigned on the V5. You could have the car SVA tested (more than 25 for sure), but it's not going to be cheap, and there is no guarantee your result will beat the 170g figure. £25 is half a tankful of petrol, and first loss tends to be least loss.

Hi Titus

Have you tried the Parkers site?

I have looked on there, but you don't say which model, ie 16V ambiant etc, but the one I brought up did give 170G/KM so looks as if it is right.

the other place to try is:

DVLA Vehicle Licensing Online | Home

and look at "Vehicle Enquiry"

There are 2 versions of the 1.4 engine, one has very high emissions for its engine size.

The 1.4 16v (100bhp) has 170g/km

Damn, looks like it could be the case then. Thanks for the info guys. Skoda actually got back to me really quickly!

It just looks so small and innocent!
