Nah. The one thing I wanted to avoid was making it into a VRS wannabe so the VRS alloys/spoiler/bumpers were out of the question.

Glad to hear it.

It does look so much better with those wheels. The standard Elegance wheels are OK but should only be kept on if going for the wolf in sheeps clothing look.

Big spoilers still not my thing, but looks loads better with them wheels

That looks much better with the new wheels. I reckon you should do what makes you happy. I'd considered taking the spoiler off my vRS and doing the opposite to you as some of the Scooby boys had done. I like the sleeper look, although credit to you for sticking by your guns on this one.

10 out of 10 for the wheels, they look so much better

But... Please ditch the spoiler, it looks sooo out of place.

A nice subtle spoiler would enhance the great work you've done on the wheels

However, that's just my opinion, and if you like it,

then that's really all that matters.

Cheers

Damian

Ps, fair play to you for trying something different.

With vRS bumpers you might pull it off.

Looking much better yes, would be tempted for the vRS front bumper though, cupra splitter and sort out the black on the rubbing strips and mud flaps.

That's not a spoiler, it's a kid's slide !

I went to my local body shop about the rubbing strips and they said they would remove them, spray them and refit them for £120. HOWEVER they were brutally honest and said that while they have many years experience they simply could not guarantee the work. They said that there was a 20% chance that the paint would flake and peel off within the first year and said that, while they always need the work and would do it if I insisted, they would rather turn my work away than risk doing a less than perfect job.

Anyone else had bad results from painting rubbing strips?

@ Babs

That spoilers tiny... look at this beauty :D

I had mine done on my last car and they were fine

I wouldnt let it stop me doing it, they are probably just covering their backs.

I've had mine painted for well over a year now, maybe closer to two. They have been ok so far & not had any paint just flake off, but I did pull a bit off a couple of weeks when I taped It up to m/c polished the car, but nothing too drastic that Is noticable.

As long as they are plastic primed beforehand there shouldn't be too much problems.

You would more then likely find once the car is lowered the wheels wont stick out of the arch.

I wasn't thinking of a colour coding as such but at least some back to black type stuff.
