Remap and anti roll bar advice please

Featured Replies

I'd concentrat on the handling first. A Jabba RARB and 312mm brakes with ferodo ds2500 makes a decent fast road car. However its still does need decent dampers/springs before a remap. Unless of course your more of a traffic light driver than a B road driver.

my friend had a superchips one... was around 160bhp i believe... which for me would make the most sence as the fabia's standard intercooler and clutch cannot cope with a lot of power

thanks for the info on that, i wouldnt have the money for a new clutch setup etc so if i was looking to remap, 160bhp would be the figure id be looking at, certainly no more than that, so ill keep superchips in mind

Haven't I read that superchips' map has a massive torque spike at 2k rpm, so is certainly not the map to get if you want a clutch friendly one?

Maybe I've misunderstood...

I think the best choice for those who want a clutch friendly map is to get a custom one written by Jabbasport/P-Torque etc and ask for exactly what you want - which is just more sustained torque at higher RPM rather than a massively bigger torque shove at 2k rpm...

yeah thats exactly what im after when i get mine done. A decent map, on a half decent clutch to start with should be ok with 170bhp i reckon. Obviously if driven properly. But if your going to have the money aside for a new clutch anyway, just go for it? then replace the clutch when it goes.

Time for an update:

Well....I went for a Jabba stage 2 custom remap. Now running 172bhp at 3650rpm and 310lb/ft (415nm) at 2060rpm on standard diesel. I've been told with a decent injector cleaner and running on V-Power or BP Ultimate that figure will be closer 180bhp. Nice!

She doesn't feel at all peaky and the torque curve is lovely and flat....and boy does she jip!! Kev's done a nice job. MPG has dropped a fair bit but it's probably me with my diving boots on causing that! (for info - also got the PD160 intake with K&N green cotton panel filter.)

As for a clutch...it's holding up fine and I'll replace it when it needs it. If it ain't broke.......

I've also done the Cupra console bushes (what a B1TCH of a job) and Jabba RARB. Handling is now much better as a result.

I've also got front and rear EBC grooved discs and green stuff pads. Still got to fit the fronts as gone for 312mm and only just managed to source the larger caliper carriers (good old Ebay). Should soon stop as well as it goes! The calipers are fully recon TT jobbies which I'm going to paint once I locate some Hammerite smooth green paint locally.

The Furby love affair is now official! ;-)

p.s. If anyone knows of an immaculate OSF wing (drivers) in metallic silver for sale please let me know. The year old dent caused by a Polo driver is now bugging me. Kent Police don't rank highly in my estimations!

what difference would you say the Jabba RARB made
