Rain sensing Alarm!!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Over the last couple of days we have had a few heavy downpours (no thunder) and the alarm on my 05 fabia vrs will go off. Only when the rain is really heavy. Any ideas as to why itdoes this. Also i can't see any sensors on the inside so just wondering how it goes off.

Thanks

James

These cars didn't have a factory alarm did they? If not, then we need to know what sort and spec of system (what types of sensor it has) is fitted.

Most likely the interior sensor which is located inside the interior light fitting. Prone to going faulty, and also has a sensitivity adjustment.

If you can VAG.com it it will tell you which sensor set of the alarm, chances are water will be getting into the one of the door, hatch or bonnet sensors. Judging by the amount of Briskodians having leaks in their rear doors this would be the most likely.

Far as I know Ken all VRS's have factory alarms.
