Find me a nice trolley jack

Featured Replies

Looking to buy a decent trolley jack I can take along to track days that is clean and doesn't leak fluid everywhere like our current one

Something compact that can lift the fat front end of the fabia weight wise would be ideal. Budget.. let's say £45.

Thanks!

:)

There's some nice alloy ones on ebay at the moment, just put "alloy trolley jack" into the search - only problem is they are about £100...

I want one but I'm not allowed:(

Halfords do a 2 and 3 tonne one that has a handy carry case and would do the job. Not too bad on price, better on trade obviously.

I got a reasonable one in a case from screwfix direct, seems to be the same make as machine mart but it was slightly cheaper. About £25 IIRC.

I would love this but it's sooo much money :D

My brother has got that one and its very good and pretty light

I would love this but it's sooo much money :D and also I don't think is quite good enough for a lard arsed fabia :D

I'd have thought it would be fine. The Fabia doesn't way 2 tonnes so why wouldn't it work?

And it's shiny and spangley! You're just trying to come up with weak excuses lol.

I've found with these small trolley jacks that getting a decent lift height almost needs to be pumped to its max lift height.

Also the small wheels tend to sink into concrete/tarmac.

The 'Halfords Advanced 2.25 Tonne Speed Lift Jack' - £49.99 came out as Practical Classics 'best budget buy'

The one that came out top...costs £173.06! - Sealey RJA 1500 1.5 Tonne Rocket Lift

Can scan the article in for you if you want, they review 6 jacks and give some (obvious) pointers on what to look for.

costco do some really nice arcan (iirc) ones, they are alloy and 2t and a really nice looking bit of kit,

they are around £80........but are low lift and will stand up to the job on our cars!

Having had a jack fail on me recently, i will be investing in one of these shortly!

I would love this but it's sooo much money :D and also I don't think is quite good enough for a lard arsed fabia :D

and that oneonly has a 37cm maximum lift height, which is not particularly high for such an expensive jack...

the costco one is very similar, but iirc lifts to almost 50cm which is a very decent height!

we don't have a costco in the south east though...

Just found a pic of the one my brother has
