Code Reader

Featured Replies

Advertised on E-Bay Code Reader OBD2 KKL OBD2 for Skoda £17.99 New. Will this code reader read all the codes, or has anyone bought one.

A link would be useful :)

There is another thread already running about these, where the same question has been asked and answered.

Just a quickie,

How easy are the generic code readers to actually use? I'm really only after something to read engine codes and I know the full VAG-COM system is apparently very efficient but slightly daunting to use for mere mortals like myself ;)

I got 2 of them, one is the u281 which I got for my Vrs (as its a VW type) and a u581 which will read my wifes Fiat and supply live data as well

The u281 has always read and cleared codes no problem, some have come back and faults repaired, others have never come back so it does it's job.

The other one was a lot more expensive (u581 was 60 quid, the other 20 quid) but reads more data, although the cheaper one has found faults that the more expensive one didn't on my Vrs (but I think it's because it's programmed differently for VW group)

Does that help??

Steve
