Hot-off-the-press: very latest Skoda discounts

Featured Replies

Simpsons of Preston have just written to me to say that they have some 'never to be repeated deals' on new facelifted Octavias, and that they are offering 'mega' (their words) part exchange deals because they don't have much stock (I would normally say that they were just saying this, but when I was in last week they didn't have many used cars in, and no VRSs).

I don't know any more than this ... Worth a call?

Absolutely.

If you were planning on changing your car and are in a position to do a deal then there are some very good buys out there on a whole load of cars.

I've heard a rumour that Skoda will be offering VAT free on Octavias starting at the beginning of July.

Can anyone "in the know" verify this???

I was offered this today, the 15th June 09, and had i been 1 day earlier would have got an Limited Edition estate diesel vRS at Sparshatt's Botley - but someone picked it up yesterday, damn them! Not sure if that was just that dealer though :/

Edit:

Skip that, didn't know the limited edition also got VAT paid, thought it was just the more accessories for less part. Damn that car is a steal!

I think the VAT free has been offered on the vRS LE for some time now.

I'll see what happens tomorrow. I did notice the forecourt looking a little bare last week when I walked past.

Do we know if any price rises are associated with the 1.8tsi being available in a wider range of specs?

If a 1.9TDI Elegance is £16165 + £400 for paint (total £16665)

Does that mean a dealer should be able to discount £2500?

Ths making the total price £14065

I anit got a scrapper but just looking for the best possible deal :P

Theoretically, if you were using the scrappage deal, then the OTR price would actually be 13,065 (15,540 RRP for car + 400 RRP for met paint - 3500 scrappage + 625 delivery).

Since only 1k of the scrappage is coming from the government, then I guess you might be able to negotiate a 2.5k discount from the dealership for an OTR price of 14,065 without scrappage (especially since the 1.9PD is currently being replaced by a 1.6CR diesel; who knows you may even get a bigger discount if it's an in-stock car on the forecourt?).
