lol, good point. My girlfriend is an architectural (sp) model maker, so has her own spray booth and equipment. Its not very big but it fitted her Mini in for spraying :)

Will powder coat the next one tho.

I take it you're serious about getting an LG then :)

See you on Friday

I will be honest and say im torn. It has some really good features and is a cool gadget. But after having it in my Ashtray the past few weeks (although having done very little mileage) i don't use it very much as a gauge. I think i would prefer to fit a couple of gauges under the stereo which are on all the time, and buy a copy of VAG-COM for the diag stuff. Granted it would work out a lot more expensive which is where i can see the massive benefit of the LG.

I cleaned my throttle body last night and used the LG to reset its position. I was suprised to see how much of a difference it made to the low RPM running. Has made it alot smoother. I thought i had a split hose somewhere but this seems to have cured it. I could not find a split hose so think this may have been the issue.

Kind Regards

Garry

Just had a thought, maybe i could mount the LG under the stereo, i could make a plate for it like i did the Ashtray mount.

That might work.

The throttle body reset thing has come in handy, I've cleaned mine twice and reset it, and did Suzes the other week, which made a noticeable difference to the bhp and torque on hers!

Oh, should do some more runs then :D

Garry

Hers got something like 156 ft/lb torque the week before the TB clean and 169ft/lb the night after we did the clean  Those were measurements from the torque gauge from her just driving round town though, not from the dyno plot.

Hi GarryC,

jumping on this forum as notice more people have this excellent kit, then noticing you knocking up mounts. I am struggling to find a suitable place to mount it in my golf, as per link:

Liquid GOLF!! Mounting Ideas - Couple of Pics - uk-mkivs

i bought it with the insert but do not wish to fit in my drivers side vent, use it at winter. Are you able to assist with location and a mount?

thanks

I'm very tempted in purchasing one now, but wondering about people who have mounted it in the driver side vents feedback in missing that vent now? Problems demisting or aircon not so good?

for me, i decided on the vent in the end, its actually not a bad place to put it - easy to use and look at. Personally, my aircon doesnt work and during winter... a bit of de-icer and lowering window helps.

Just been using!! wicked... but the fascia scratches easy so be careful when handling it

Morning.

Sorry for the delayed reply i dont check the site over the weekend :)

Where were you thinking of mounting the Gauge? Sadly i cant offer to make any more mounts. I am about to leave my current job at Piper Cams and Exhaust so wont have access to the machine shop like i did before.

Many Regrets

Garry
