312mm brakes from a dealer.

Featured Replies

312mm brake upgrade, all vag cars with this brake set up the same am i right? if i was to get them from someone eg jabba, awsome etc and fit them myself would they charge alot more then simply goin to a vag dealer? just a thought?

I would think that a tuner like jabba/awesome would be buying them from a dealer anyways and would have to add a mark up if selling them on and they couldn't make money on the labour of fitting them

I could be wrong though!

Nah, a tuner would hopefully be clued up enough to get them from something like TPS, which would mean they could either undercut a dealer or sell at the same price.

lets compair. anyone know how much they are from a dealer and what are jabba sellin them for?

Why don't you phone both and ask ?

Good luck with buying them new, cost will be huge.

Around £300 from Steve is a bargain for brakes that as as new.

We charge £425 fitted including painting them green as a guideline.

Personally I bought mine from Steve, painted the calipers green myself (for something to do) and Ali @ Unit18 fitted them for me. Awesome upgrade, and I reckon you'll struggle to beat Unit18 for price and service ;); I can't recommend them enough, even if it means a bit of a road trip for you.

I don't think Steve/VAG-Bitz have many (if any) left.

someone on Ebay regularly selling the calipers for £150

when i siad "from a dealer" what i really meant was from the same places we could buy them from such as TPS

I did the same as Clarkey and bought mine from Steve/VAG Bitz and had a mate fit them.

That was a couple of months ago and i took the penultimate set.

When i enquired he had 15 and when i bought them he had 2!

Apparently he sold a job lot of 10 sets to a garage - wasn't you was it Ross ;)
