Auto lights option???

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the new Octavia's can be fitted with auto lights(the ones that come on automatically in the dark) as an option. I will be changing soon but all I can see in the brochure is Daytime running lights. I presume these are the lights that stay on constantly while the engine is running??? TIA

Light assist is what you are looking for.

Not on Octys made in 2008, according to my dealer. It doesn't show on their computer as an option or in my brochures, so I don't think it can be retrofitted without extreme hassle.

EDIT: sorry, I thought you mean retrofitted. I'm sure it's a factory-fitted option.

standard on the scout-(2007)

It can be retrofitted as someone has done it

Thanks

I looked at the brochure which daytime running lights come as standard. I thought these were something similar to what Volvo's have. After reading a bit more, I believe this function works with the fog-lights and not the main headlights and can be turned off. I have light assist in my current octy. Can anyone recommend any other worthwhile options for a new skoda?

I do remember reading this thread a while ago actually, I couldn't remember whether it had reached a conclusion. I remember it looked like a PITA though :)

Strange that it isn't a dealer retro-fit option? Or is it just my dealer?!

It's not strange at all. Dealers on the whole hate retrofitting, apart from the odd Cruise installation.

This hatred must extend up to Skoda too, because I don't think it's listed in their options brochuse, unlike CC.

Makes sense though, as you say.
