does the mk2 have anti-hijack ?

Featured Replies

my mk1 fabia had anti hijack (locked the car doors when set off),my mk2 has to go in for some work on thursday and i want it turned on.does the mk 2 have anti-hijack ?

thanks

It is possible to have it enabled on a Mk2, yes. Along with the usual other suspects - one-door unlock, beep on lock/unlock etc.

Steve

would skoda do this for free?

Depends on the dealer. It does take a little time, so you could reasonably expect the dealer to make some charge for it. But if you're having other work done at the same time, a reasonable one might sort it as part of that work.

You need it sorting? I can do it with VAG-COM at the next Stretton meet if you like.

Steve

dont "need" it sorting, just wouldnt mind having it. what other wizardry can you do with vag-com?

I'm intending to have this activated on my new Fabia (delivery date expected early September) - they'd better not try charging for it!

No worries - well if you'd like it sorting, let me know :)

You can do loads, but in terms of 'convenience' type features:

Anti-hijack

One-door unlock

Beep on lock and/or unlock

There also might be bits and bobs that can be 'unlocked' or enabled, but I'd have to have a look through the options available on the Fabia2, as I've not connected to one before :)

Steve

OHHHHH, might have to let you fiddle with it ;)

what i WOULD like is to be able to take the key out and the lights go off! that would be great!

one door unlock is already enabled on mine, not sure if its on all mk2's

Mine too. I'd quite like it turned *off* tough :P

Yes, one-door is a contentious one. Some find it helpful, some a pain in the neck. But at least letting people know it is something that can be adjusted is a step in the right direction :)

'Key out and lights off' - are we talking if you have dipped or sidelights on at the time of stopping, when you take the key out and leave the car, the lights go out without you having to turn the light switch to 'off' ?

Steve

yeah, im lazy like that! :D

I asked my dealer and they activated "automatic locking" (i.e. all doors lock at 10mph) for free as part of the PDI on my Furby.

It would be good to know what can be enabled on the Fabia

Already got the anti-hijack and am going to get the beep on lock and unlock.

Did wonder about Day time running lights, coming/ leaving home lights, hazards flash on emegency braking.

Dont think any of this can be done because it's not a full CAN-BUS car like the Golf MK5 cars, you dont get those nice little tick boxes in VCDS to enable and disable stuff. I dont even think you could code DRL, Courtesy light or ABS lights to be honest, all I am aware that can be done with the Fabia is:

*Anti-Hijack (And unlock when key removed from ignition)

*Instrument Cluster Regional Variationns (KM/MPH) (Different Warning Buzzers)

*Steering assistance increase/decrease

*Single/Both Doors unlock and alarm regional variations (Mine is changed to Germany, Much Louder!!)

*Beep on lock/unlock

*EGR Adjustments for TDI's

If anyone knows of anything elese that can be done then please let us know, it's useful information
