I'm not sold on the black front bumper. Like the wheels, black grille, splitter and ride height.

What's the huge piece of metal behind the grille and why doesn't my car have one?

you are joking yours should have this its part of the front crossmember:confused:

i suspect you have but its not something you look for!!!!

the car well each to the own......is the bumper painted or just left new???

i think the overall look isnt for me but if you like then crack on ...

looking good............ may i ask where you got the spoiler from???

Hmmm, I had the whole grill off to paint the chrome surround and I don't remember seeing it.

I'll have to have another look.

I quite like it. I think I'd keep the Skoda badge on the front though. And get Baker21 to make it really nice and shiny (the whole car not just the badge :)).

Did you spray the bumper yourself? there is no shine to it.

Alloys look ok.

This was my first thought. I can't really see what's going on here. Is it the paint, the light or the photos? Not sure, but I think if I could see it a little better, I'd like it a little better.

Hope that's not too mean :)

Isn't it one of the differences between the original and facelifted cars ?

The green bits probably just need a weekend with a G220 to get them really gleaming again

Ditto ,

How about nice red painted brake calipers to match the red seat belts and a nice aluminium vRS tax disc holder (Richbrook) :).

Put the Skoda badges back on so people know what has just passed them :).

Best wishes

Peter

Where abouts can you get these from?? I've had a search through fleabay, with no luck.. :o

I best not share my thoughts on this car then!

I would get your rear bumper painted black and the lower part of the door panels too, the paint your calipers the same colour as the OEM paintwork.

Your passenger side indicator isn't clamped to the headlamp properly. It looks like it's missing one of the guides at the bottom, making it kick out slightly.

Yes, yes, yes! This makes sense! Also some bumper black stuff for the bumpstrips would help.

The tax holder was a present when I got my car 3 years ago, I think it was a company selling machined aluminium Richbrook ones. Ive done a search for them, no luck:thumbdwn:.

However if you still want a unique vRS one why not do this :-

Buy a Std aluminium Richbrook one and some brake decals from these people :-

SKODA VRS Brake Caliper Decals Stickers on eBay (end time 25-Jun-09 10:00:44 BST)

You get 2 extra ones (one large for the front and one small for the rear),

stick the one of your choice on the back surface of the tax holder.

Fill the letter V with green paint, the R and S are self coloured.

Hey Presto!!, one unique vRS tax holder .

NB: I bought those decals and put them on the calipers about 6 months ago, still ok. (I did put 2 layers of clear laq' over them to protect them from the brake dust).

Blinkin' awful, sorry. What model is that?

:iagree:

What's the point of tarting a base model to look like a vRS (you will not fool anybody, with rear drum brakes though)

And if mods declared to insurance your insurance is probably hiked up to vRS level, but probably its only a 1.6,or worse a diesel. :(

Perhaps he prefers the look of the vRS, but can't afford one? It's not necessarily about "fooling" people. Also cosmetic mods rarely affect insurance so much these days if you have a decent policy. The vRS is an expensive car to insure compared with a derv or regular petrol one.

No need to hate.

the 'piece of metal' you mention is part of your front panel, which is the same on pre and post facelift octavias and i'd be slightly concerned if it wasn't there!! as for the car in question, well, lets just say green isn't one of my favourite colours.........

Yeah, mine is really dirty and didn't show up as much as that, plus the angle emphasises it.

It's all there on my car, no problems...

:thumbdwn: As long as you like it

havent bin on for a while but it seems mixed opinions the bumper is only primered which i have to admit i did my self as it was originaly silver and needs a final coat of green

its a MK1 and was unaware there were two types the lower metal brace i think should be on all the frames as it holds the radiator in place and doesnt allow the frame to open up if thats possible

the look i was going for is something different i dont want people to be able to reconise it as a skoda and lose interest

the spoiler was an ebay jobie and i got i for 60 imported from poland rather than 140 odd if i bought it in this country

thanks and any more comments good or bad now welcome but dont expect me to give u nice ones back
