Does Corrida red paint finish fade?

Featured Replies

quick test, rub a panel with a cloth and some t-cut, if there is red on the cloth, the paint will fade unless polished/waxed every now and again. if there is no red on the cloth then it won't fade as it has a coat of clear lacquer on top. all modern water based paints, wether metallic or flat, have a clear top coat as the water based, eco-friendly paint manufacturers now use is no where near as durable and hard wearing as two pack, or cellulose paint used to be. god damn environment! not sure when VAG made the switch to water based though. well done on your purchase, good choice! enjoy:thumbup:

I have had a little fading on the spoiler, but thats it. Probably due to it been painted on plastic.

The car is kept on the drive and is in full sun most of the day (when the sun actual shines that is:D)

I little T-Cut and plenty of meguiars polish keeps the car looking the biz.

I am thinking of getting the black plastic trim colour coded. Anyone with a red vRS done this? Any pics handy?
