hi there,my clutch is starting to slip between 2-3rpm,not good .

i got some prices from jay r and tps and fudge me i was shocked at them as they both tell me that when i do the cluch i will have to change my dmf to ......450ish plus vat alone .......

im skint and cant afored that .....if it was just clutch and a bit of labour, fine .

my tec at work said to me why dont u try smf for ur car ,asked if they do 1 and they said no.......is this true or is there a smf kit that will fit my vrs ????

yep - i'm running a Jabbasport smf and Sachs clutch kit - bit noisy on tickover, but good feel to it!

Phone them mate.

Only trouble ive heard about SMF's is that they can wrect a gear box, as its double mass for a reason.

This might just be speculation tho.

Even so, im going to get a lightened DMF just to be safe.

Can get you just the Sachs uprated clutch, will handle all the torque you will likely ever have. Only downside is they are £550 delivered, which is still cheap though

I have just got an uprated sachs clutch, came to 535 delivered, going to try and get away with keeping the existing DMF....

If you do need to do the DMF, you can get them for about £250.

well in a turn of events it seams that my warranty ppl might pay 4 it now witch is a plus,but if not i have found a place that sells the clutch kit and dmf for 300 witch im thinking is cheap!!!!(please tell me if u can get cheaper tho lol)

Depends on type of driving. Motorway munchers can get 150K out of the clutch. Typical use is about 60K to 80K Miles.

mine is now on 94k and i think its the same 1 from new ......and the car had its chip put in at 6k so its done ok by the sounds of it

you should be ok on a standard clutch then, mine was running 260 ft lbs as standard, and never had any problems :thumbup:

now im at 322 ft lbs an uprated is needed :D
