ECU reset??

***WARNING: English is not my first language, expect mistakes*** :P

Good evening to everybody,

For 5-6k miles, thanks to a stupid garage guy that could not read a OBD scanner, i drove with a malfunctioning lambda probe.

My car is LPG converted and while the emissions are ok on gas, (that works with his own ECU) on petrol are quite high, not enough to make me fail the APK ( the Dutch MOT) but anyway worrying. The technician of the LPG garage told me that a possible cause could be the many miles drove with a fail lambda could have "corrupted" the datas and a solution could be a reset of the original ECU.

The question is: must i take the car to a dealer or the simple trick to disconnect the battery for some hours will work?

Many thanks in advance.

Andreas

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the ECU.
