you don't appreciate something till its gone

Featured Replies

dropped my octy vrs off to have it 40k service and starter motor looked at.

i was epecting at least another octy as a curtesy car,but they gave me the keys to a fabia 1.4tdi,not a bad little engine but the trim level was shocking, funny how something so simple as central locking can be missed, you take air con for granted and even electric windows and mirrors.

i can get the family in the car(just)but can't get the pram in the boot(something i never though about till i get home)

my daughter will be glad to get the vrs back,me too.

no dsirespect to any 1.4tdi owners but the car just isn't for a family of 4

it's true :)

I really don't think we appreciate how good our cars are until we lose them for a bit

It's like we're really English and we put down what we have even though you probably couldn't top it if you wanted to :):)

ps I hear the grass is always greener people

It's not just the English....

I was given a Focus 1.6 AUTO!!!!! (poxy auto box) when my Octy vRS was sick.... I was almost two weeks without it, but when I got it back... I remembered just how good a car the Octy is.....

Couldnt agree more with you, dropped my oct rs for a service an hour ago and got a 1.9tdi fabia, as you said i found the trim level quite poor, although its expected with a base model, but the car seemed to be much "looser" than the octavia. The engine sounded like a tractor, although i got used to it after a while. Was fine to drive though.

Dont forget that the Fabia is classed as a super mini.

So it isn't a family car.

I Switched From Octy to Fabia, but that was coz my rugrats were grown up & no longer want to come out with mum & dad.!!!

Funny you say that, I dropped in the Furby to have the seat covers replaced. They gave me a 1.9 SDI with manual everything, I thought the mirrors where electric until I knocked the adjustment lever and the mirror moved, was an eye opener....

wound the windows down to on the drivers side and scraped me knuckle 3 times on the seat height adjuster,we did manage to get the push chair oin the boot,it needed a womans touch, not the "bruteforceandignorance" approach i was using.

engine does indeed sound like a tractor,my ****roen van is quieter.

and why only one lock on the outside?i was going mental locking all the doors then getting out only to remember i gotta open the boot from the inside.

vrs was sat out front when we arrived,i paid me bill shifted 3/4 of my family into the octy, revo'd the car to 98 ron program once again and i was out of there:)
