Hi all,

my first post and prob not my last

Just bought a fabia 1.4 mpi 110000 miles, very well looked after car, full service history etc.

On way home the engine management light came on and stayed on for 40 miles, stopped and started the car a couple of times light stayed on.

Left the car for a couple of hours, started up and light still on, then after 5 mins driving its gone off and stayed off for now.

Any ideas?

A fault has been detected which has not re-ocurred after after a set number of driving cycles. A fault code read should give a clue.

As fordfan says, intermittent faults can sometimes clear after (10?) ignition cycles, the fault memory will store the fault though.
