Puddle Light

Featured Replies

Is there any way of changing this to a white light?? my mates dads saab has white ones and they light up the floor better. Do any of the VAG range have them in white that fit fabias??

Surely you would have to change the lenses ? As thats the part that is red ? Yes ?

I would think that there is a white bulb in behind, but perhaps i'm wrong:eek:

yes thats what i meant is there any cars with clear lenses??

Fraid not.. I already looked into this.. No clear alternative on any VAG car as far as I can tell.. Wish Skoda had used the oval ones.. you can get those in half red/white... but not available in the square shape :(

Funnily enough, I was getting out of a Saab 95 when I noticed how nice puddle lights could be and started looking into the options.

You could install white LED's along the bottom of the door card.. this is an idea I'm still playing with as I'd want the to be invisible... loads a room in the bottom lip of the door card though and dead easy to take power from the red warning light :D

The light is not a puddle light "per-se". its true function is to enable a car approaching you in the dark to clearly see you have a door open. This is why the light is red, as you are only allowed to show a red light to the rear of your car.

On the octy2 the puddle lights are in the mirrors and shine a light down/forward rather than rearwards.
