Rear window frame repair

Featured Replies

Well it had to happen, nice pea sized dent and missing paint in the rear window frame, top/front. Dont know how it missed the bodywork.

Strange thing though, this part of the frame seems to be coated in plastic. Local repair shop didnt want to know. Rear section is actually plastic clipped on to the window post but this seems to be plastic film stuck to the frame.

Anyone know how to repair this or is it a Skoda job only (lots of £££) ??

Thanks in advance.

Can you post some pic's?

Will do when I get home later...

Not sure what you can do there

Anyway a bodyshop can maybe fill it and paint it black, or maybe a touch up paint stick and a small amount of filler for a home repair.

What about a " dentdevils " type company?

Problem is the plastic coating - cant sand it properly :(

Will have to take it to Skoda and see what they say.

There is indeed a plastic foil that is heat sealed onto the window frame. It can be peeled off and replaced but its a drag. Willis Skoda quoted me £150 so I will get it done when I have it serviced.
