Featured Replies

howdy guys, ive just come to fit my shiny new catch can and found i have a split hose :rotz:

http://www.pimpmyskoda.co.uk/V2Images/ModsEngine/DV30%20Fitted.JPG

its the pipe underneath the y section which normally splits, anyone got a part number for it?

im also going to be needing some silicone hose to plumb in the catch can, any ideas what internal diameter will be required?

many thanks in advance:thumbup:

mark

I have both the eurojet upper and the lower pipe too, a bit of a beatch to fit but well worth it and has cleared my error code that kept coming up on vag.com.

Worth doing the upper too, someone posted this in another thread

VW GOLF/BORA MK4 1.8T 20VT SILICONE BREATHER PIPES AUM on eBay (end time 06-Jul-09 23:24:35 BST)

Just used these guys to buy heather matrix replacement pipes for the mk2, they are well priced and do everything

Also i think zena racing do a upper and lower pcv kit for around £60, check em out on ebay as worth doing both together.

when you changed the bottom one was it split? if not would you mind sending it down if youve still got it kicking about?

How are you planning to make the joint for the Y-shape when you fit the catch can?

No idea at the moment, gona have to look

at other peoples and see what I come up with

mark all you need is a couple of metres of 19mm silicone oil resistant and an alloy t piece. and you will replace that lower tube thats split with th e silicone...

as you can see in the pic the hose going from the bottom of the T joint replaces that hose:thumbup:

hope that helps

Wow that's a nice engine bay!!! Any ideas where to get an alloy t piece from? I can't actually see the lower section but that's still a great help

i got mine made by baileys

if you look nex to the catch tank you can see the red hose that goes under the inlet mannifold thats the one i will go and get a couple of pics in a minute and put them up:thumbup:

as westallc says, nie and easy, just use a t-piece, auto performance do them i think.

that engine bay is sooooo nice isnt it....wanna swap:rolleyes:

right, tonight ive ordered 2m of 19mm silicone hose, and a 19mm t piece,

anything else you think ill need, ive got plenty of jubilees etc, just wondering if ill need anything to step down the 19mm hose to the smaller hose that fits on my catch can

Where did you order from?

mark i would advise to get the same catch tank as ive got its about £100 but it works and the outlets are 19mm....

i did a bit of research and it says not to go any lower than what your outlets are and the ones on the skoda are 19mm so really you want to keep it all at 19mm. did that make sense??

i will get some close up pics for you of the lower hose when i get home in the morning:thumbup:

p.s did you make sure the hose you orderd was oil resistant?;)

p.s it really does make a big difference to the state of the intake....:D

I've already got the forge universal catch can so I'm gona use that, I know there's a few people on here running it, rob, I ordered it all from the eBay link in one of the previous posts on this topic

what size are the inlet and outlet on the catch tank?? is it 13mm

if so i have a metre length in red oil resistant if you need for £20 posted

cost me £50 notes

also that silicone doesnt look like its lined so will degrade very quickly and not fit for purpose buddy:thumbup:

your going to need a step down from 19mm to 13 mm if thats the size of the catch tank...

have you a pic im confusing myself lol

let me know about the silicone its siting in the cupboard it will come with about 10 stainless hose clips

nope the inlet and outlet are 10mm,

afraid red is no use buddy, everything silicone i have is blue :(

10mm wow thats small are you sure this will not cause a problem as the ecu alows for a set percentage of air flow from the crank and rocker cover!!!

i would check buddy to make sure that wont cause any problems with pressure etc as that a big difference..

hi Mark, just read the post where youa sked if i still had the pipe, sorry i dont, it was split and was in bad condition tbh, an upgrade was def in order as the vag part is expensive, how you getting on with this all anyway?

Well I've got some 19mm hose and a t-piece but that's as far as I've got at the minute, busy week jumping out of planes and haven't felt like doing it in the evenings!

That's exactly the setup I'm looking to run, but maybe with a metal Y-piece instead of the T-piece you used (if I can find one). Did you run the crank case breather hose up from the rubber T-piece and join it there? Don't suppose you ever got a pic of it? I'm guessing you used a 19mm joiner to attach it to the rubber T-piece. Also, did you have any problems with bending the straight hoses (buckling), or did you use the wire reinforced bendy hose?

Merci!
