What to look for?

Featured Replies

Hopefully looking at a black fabia vrs 54 plate, 51,000 miles, MOT 10/2010. Haven't spoken to the bloke (trade) yet but hopefully can trade in my Renaultsport Clio 182 in. I'm assuming the cambelt hasn't been done and with the MOT in a few months I think I would offer my car plus £200. The vrs is on for £5495. What should I look for when I go to view? Any advice would be great. Thanks, Stan

Ive just bought a vRS mate and while was looking into them I found a few things to check...

Have a look at this site; Door Carrier Repair fabia-vrs.com - The Comprehensive Fabia vRS Resource Site The rear door carriers are prone to let water in.

Also the fuel filler caps are prone to not shutting properly, thats due to a cable under the carpet which has come loose, simple to put back on though.

Check front suspension for bangs, knocks etc. The vRS has a heavy diesel lump at front and some of the bushes are weak, they may need changing etc.

Hope you find a good one

Alex

Do the usual checks as you would any other car-

1. Is the body straight? and does it drive & brake straight?

2. Does it have a good service history? Skoda or any VAG specialist.

3. At this time of the year some of us are having Air con problems, so make sure it works.

4. Listen for bangs rattles and squeaks over rough roads.

5. Are you completely happy with it, if not there are plenty of VRS elsewhere for sale.

Hope its a good un, Good Luck.
