Felicia 1.3 spi mods?

Featured Replies

My felicia lxi - 1.3 spi engine is crying out for some more power, what are the best performance mods other than an engine transplant? Decat/filter/suspension upgrade? Anyone done anything similar, I bought the car with a destroyed waterpump/head failure, I replaced the pump/head and it runs ok, its got 30000 miles on it and the body is rot free, it just needs a good kick up the backside in the performance stakes!!!!

I know the feeling! i have the Mpi version and it makes all the right noises, but lacks that torque right accross the range. I would suggest ditching the filterand replacing it with a cone type filter, something from Powertec, Pipercross or K&N. uprating the suspension wont get you any power gain, but it will look trick .

Decat is always a possibility, as it can suck as much as 10bhp, but remember to keep the cat handy for M.O.T day...

Top quality set of plugs will always help, NGK V groove if you can get them have always served me right in all of my cars. short of that, theres not much else to do with such a small engine. Could always ditch the rear seat and spare wheel for that extra power/weight ratio...

free flow filter, ported head, re-ground cam, tubular manifold and a free flow exhaust

All the above, and then (and only then) a custom remap.

Of course, by this time you'll have spent enough to buy an Octy TDi110 which would be bigger, faster, and more economical.
