I only needed a couple more laps to catch you Paul. Was gaining fast I think once I got past Katie (who again I must apologise to for hitting rather hard from the back) - I was scarily getting quite into it by the end, and was very tempted by a second go.

@Jason, yes jase it would have been interesting, after watching the video you were doing slightly better than me on that 90 degree right bend that Will crashed spectacularly on, but for my 3rd time ever karting (and yes ive only ever done it 3 times) i thought i had done well. Just need more confidence with the corners.

She jumped in our group after having a seemingly mild attack of some sort trying on a helmet for the 2nd session. I guess she found one which was less claustrophobic and joined us. I'm glad they had XXXL helmets though as even XXL was snug!

You're right though about my rather pathetic little "episode"! Can't say that hyperventilating due to putting a crash helmet on was something I would have expected! I'm really glad I got over it. I wanted another go afterwards as well!

No need to apologise for bumping into me - I daresay it was my overcautious braking on the corner which caused it anyway!

Afraid I was rather in "hell for leather" mode. Once I knew how late the braking could be left I really did push it. Was actually only my 2nd time in gokarts (that weren't part of an Alton Towers type setup) but I actually think my experience in my own car on track helped around the 'ickle track.

PS: I know one shouldn't enquire as to the weight of a lady, but you were pulling away from me on the straights. I think my "almost" 14 stone was not helping

That was the method that Dan (my youngest) used.

Something along the lines of "If I don't need to brake when I'm playing Mario Kart on the Wii, then why should I need to brake in real life".

I guess that makes sense when you're 9 years old.....

My racing line was there all the way round the bend then the person who designed the track must have decided to bring the tyres in again for the next bend. I was getting past you fine until the tyres chucked me out my seat

Tigger you crashed twice, once to the offside just after the hair pin and the second time you got sent out your seat down the far end where the 90 degree right bend was (and the tyre wall had to be rebuilt)

Im sure if i can get my confidence up with corners then i would have been faster, but it was good to have you jase in our group.

Later on i went on with skodaboy+girl and simon (cant think of this screen name) and 2 joe public who for some reason crashed when i got close to them (cough 90 degree bend and the zig zag neat finish line) cant think why they crashed

Trouble is, I'm too courteious when it comes to it. For me, hitting other cars should be reserved for the bumper cars on Weston Pier (RIP)

I just couldn't commit to any kind of manouvere where it meant an almost certain coming together in the effort of making it 2 a-breast in a corner.
