plastic bits where roof bars went in

Featured Replies

i'm not sure if i did it wrong but all of the plastic bit's that go in the holes where the roof bars went in they all just fall into the holes now, what i need to know is what i did wrong, part number and price:rolleyes:was it me or are these clips rubbish:thumbdwn:

Hahaha, yes the clips are rubbish as is the whole design. They almost appear to one use only.

If the actual removed bit is in one piece and undamaged, you might find its the bit its clips into has moved or broken. Yank out the whole black trim (which runs the length of the car) and see if the clips needs attaching to the underside.

Its been covered before, and the part number is somewhere on this site

yea the clips are in one piece so it look's like the rail's have to come off, what a load of rubbish:hbomb:

The rails come out easily enough - start at the boot end where they are exposed, be gentle as they are rubber coated metal and I imagine will deform quite easily. The little clips beneath will need reattaching or replacing, quite obvious once its apart

well i had a go at this but they still fall through so if anyone has got the part numbers that would be great also when in the future im fitting the roof bars can i just remove the strips in one piece then fit the bars?

Wow, had no idea these were so rubbish, the rail and clips were body coloured on my early green elegance.. now I understand why they're just left black on my vRS!

Wonder how many rails got painted under warranty before skoda just pulled a henry ford on there behind! "The rails can be any colour you want, as long as it's back" ;)

Yes these clps are terrible I went for the quick and easy fix I cellotaped them back in as they kept falling in as I know I will be needing to use them again in the near future.

Been nearly two months and the tape is not showing any sign of letting up!

i used some super glue on mine and held it in place for a few seconds with a small screw driver. Works a trate and they have not fell off yet.......

If you do want new ones, mine were 96p each from the dealer.
