Vrs le

Featured Replies

Please, please give it a rest about the LE FFS.

You read my mind!!!!

And as for the LE being a step up from a normal vRS..... get a grip. Yes it has very nice leather interior and I also happen to like the wheels but they are a run out model. There was no availability to specify any factory fitted options which means they are all the same and lack some nice toys. At best it's a step sideways.

I am boring you with the point

Your words, not mine

If you can't be enthusiastic on a Skoda forum about a new Skoda car then no point in posting is there?

Totally agree....If a thread is posted about a certain model then its natural that you want to read it if your an owner whether its a TDI, TSI, Hatch, Estate Mk1 Mk2, or other its in the Octy section and that covers a vast range of models. All i can say that if others are sick of hearing about the LE the thread title cant be anymore clearer. You dont have to read it and certainly you dont need to give negative comment to those owners that do. IMHO

Maybe thats why i didnt start another thread on the LE (see previous post) is it because of the negative comments that may arise......come on boys....read but if you cant be constructive...DONT BE CRITICAL of someones new car

In my defence, to be fair, I don't think I've actually criticised the car itself, merely the fact that someone appears to be putting his car on a pedestal compared to the standard vRS because the car is a different colour, has an additional badge, different wheels, and seats made out of a few extra cow hides.

The car is a vRS with a few cosmetic differences - that to my mind does not make it a step up, merely a variation on a theme. How many vRS LE's have a DSG box in them ? I think none. The fact that mine has it does not make it a step up from a manual, even though it's potentially an £1100 option.

Your points accepted, however will you have similar comments on the FL vRS? The LE has the 2009 interior the new TSI engine as the FL.. ok there wasnt any options with the LE but for the price its a excellent buy as a number of posts has mentioned and most LE owners will agree. As putting the car on a pedestal well.... arent all buyers of a new car on one of those anyway...

It's a matter of opinion and taste, isn't it - everyone is entitled to his/her own.

I was tempted by the LE, but I didn't really want leather seats (hot and sticky in summer) and the anthracite grey does nothing for me. Years ago I had a Renault 18 GTX estate in that colour, because it was in stock: the salesman said 'you'll soon get used to the colour'. Oh no I didn't - lovely car, did 75,000 trouble-free miles - but I still don't like dark grey. My vRS is an ordinary CR TDI - in race blue.

The only thing I regret not having is the Maxidot computer that came with the LE - I wonder if it can be retrofitted.

Mine has the shiny chrome as well, maybe it was mine you saw at Gaydon, A_Duncan ;).

#201? Mine was parked next to it, Grey (if cleaned) 07 Elegance with 17" pegasus wheels. SWMBO wanted one and took quite a shine to yours.

Guys at the new OTR price of £20,500 my LE is not an upgrade over the existing VRS IMHO, as it balances out with the existing models with wheels, lether options etc, upgrades you can add to the vehicle (a point I know about the LE you cannot do - although I was offered parking sensors when I bought mine and declined FWIW I could also change the wheels for a cost if I'd wished FYI).

No the point I was labouring and still do is that at £17K OTR (no VAT offer) it is an astonishing car, better than 1 year old VRS models on the forecourt - a very simple premise that seems to be ignored reading some of the comments about it in this thread, that is the only way I am saying it is superior to an existing VRS - VFM wise.

FWIW I thought posting about a LE enthusiastically in an LE thread would not be a problem, I was mistaken, I feel like the next comment I make about my stunning car, I will be asked to "give it a rest FFS". Cheers lads.

Ahem no - Pedestal becuase it is £17K new on the road, comapred to 1 year old VRSs on the forecourts, you have not read my posts properly :mad::mad: yet jump in.

Started a right row ere!

Here's a vote for the CR TDI DSG. I got mine for 14500K. It has the gearbox of course. Auto mirror,

Rain sensing wipers, cruise, reversing sensors, heated seats. These on top of the usual spec.

The more I look at it, the more I realise I have an awful lot of motor for relatively little spondooli. Even though, at the time of purchase I thought I had not bargained hard enough.

I very nearly bought one of the standard pack cars in anthracite that were flooding the dealers a few months ago. Just my opinion of course, but I think the VRS looks a bit flat in anthracite. It just somehow lacks the impact that the other colours make on the shape of the car. I think the estate suites anthracite quite well though. Having said that, as much as I love my candy white car, I still pas envious glances at the race blue one. ( The colour of my last VRS )

On a side note, has anyone noticed that Skoda have ditched the rubberised plastics on the interior door handles? I suspect it is because the stuff peeled off when scratched.

Harry you certainly have a lot of car for the money, what year was that VRS you landed?

FWIW my favourite VRS colour is the Blue, you just now that any Skoda you seen in the colour from a distance is a VRS, the Anthracite is quite understated the LE stealth badging adds to understatement - Silver I also like, the only thing about the car that I have noticed is that SWMBO and her friends like the colour more than blokes....eek.

Anyway 18" Neptunes is a future upgrade I fancy.

Only thing I would say is that the prices quoted for 2nd hand cars are negotiable too.

Mine was up for £17995

3 months old dealer principles car which has virtually every item off the extras list (plus a few that aren't on the list) and I negotiated them down to £16250

Leather interior

lowered

sat nav

18" wheels, climate, jumbo box, front and rear parking sensors

auto lights and auto wipers

xenon lights and headlight washers

cruise control

etc etc

Thats approx 5k worth of extras and a car costing approx 18k so £23k worth of car, 3 months old for £16k

NOW THAT'S A BARGAIN

However, as always, these things are subjective and it is good to get peoples opinions of what they like and don't like etc etc.

Chill out guys and celebrate the fact that we are all different and want/like different things. The world would be as dull as ditchwater if we all wanted the same thing.

Smile...............it's the weekend

Hi!

Mine is an 09 plate, although I think it had been lying around Simpson's for a bit longer. The front disks were a bit pitted with rust. This worried me at first, but now I am cool with it.

I think the white one like the anthracite is a bit of a marmite colour for some. Maybe thats why it had not sold earlier.

Next up is a visit to Will at Performance Torque. WEHEY!!

Jesus Ian, I thought I had landed a decent car for £17K! That is a wonderful spec old chap, I agree with the L&K owner earlier though when it comes to spec, plushness and goodies, we mere VRS drivers are playing second fiddle to the pipe n slipper boys in the L&Ks , one day I can imagine picking up a fully loaded Superb 2.5 V6 L&K.

Harry - FWIW the discs on my LE were slightly pitted too with rust, sitting around as you say for a while, which explains the bargains to be had.

As Skoda drivers and then VRS drivers I extend respect to you all, you all have fine taste in cars, even if some of you are bolshy nuggets.

even if some of you are bolshy nuggets.

Fair do's - this bolshy nugget also got his vRS for £15522 brand new, and got 2 years interest free finance, so I reckon you were fleeced at £1700 for your stunning up-spec manual vehicle :P

That was me Gadgetman. I rather liked your car as well. Those Pegasus rims really look so much better than the standard ones I had on my old Ambiente (I still miss her in a lot of ways. Must have been the toys, but the LE will be updated soon, and I really want the MFSW without Paddles (listen up Skoda, hehe))

Your good lady obviously has taste if she likes the LE (runs and hides):rofl:

From my experience I was offered a new vRS CR LE and a new facelift (FL) vRS CR for very similar money.

As I wanted the new front end and race blue, decision made. I am also not keen on the grey of the LE and definitely not the wheels, but love the leather. Only my opinion :)

I even considered getting the interior of the FL vRS re-trimmed with leather, but in the end plumped for the 'standard' vRS leather upgrade, which looks pretty good from the photos that I have seen.

Admittedly, adding the leather made the price of the FL more than the LE, but in my opinion this was worth it for the new front end, the colour and the wheels. It should also be more depreciation proof due to it being the 'new' shape (although with some of the deals on the last of the 'old' shape vRS's, I will have paid more for the FL model).

Roll on the 1st September

Can we have new forum heading of "Squabbling" please .....?! :P

Don't be such a grumpy old git, it's only light-hearted banter intended to liven things up a bit

I was a devil's advocate in a previous life

No

Remember the Monty Python argument sketch,

Is this the right room for an argument?

I've told you once.

Yes I have.

Just now.

Yeah but I have much better seats than you  did you get the leather option too for £15,522?. I reckon £17K for a brand new VRS with OTR price of £20,500 is a good deal, unusual colour with 18" rims, maxidot, cruise, is alright. Can't wait to see you warbling about your 18" anthracites  I will be waiting, even when I am asking advice about 18" in future. :).

Simbo, hopefully no offence taken, we VRS owners are squabbling over extras and qulaity of extras whilst the L&K boys have a chuckle in the background, hence the pipe n slippers quote. I used to have an Omega 2.5 V6 petrol, so have been a pipe n slippers man myself in the past

There's plenty of room for both the VRS boys and the Pipe n Slippers boys. IMHO, I was going for an L&K and ended up with a Vrs This time round. Let's face it a bit of banter is good for you, and let's face it, aren't the L&K boys acting as beta testers for what ends up on the the VRS further down the line ? (Hides)

Prefer the LE but ther again am abit bias I find them very comfortable on long drives etc and look really cool.. wish my stomatch had all those ripples... I only have one

Was going to put this on a new tread but since its title I imaging most LE onwers will look here........Question?? Are all the LE`s interiors the same. At the Gayton skoda day I noticed the TDI LE version had a crome cap on the gear stick while my TSI has a matt finish matching the grey horizontal strips. What has yours got???

Can we go back to my original post No16 please..........Are all interior of the LE the same??? Stictly for proud LE owners.....Ah well I tried.........:rofl: :P

bring on the banter..heehee

Yeah but I have much better seats than you

If you like leather

did you get the leather option too for £15,522?

No, but I prefer the standard vRS seats

I reckon £17K for a brand new VRS with OTR price of £20,500 is a good deal

I think £15522 for a car with the DSG box and a list price of nearer £21000 ranks as better value, unless my maths has really gone off the boil. And they are probably desperate to get rid of the LE's to make way for the facelift model.

unusual colour

All the LE's are the same colour aren't they ?

with 18" rims, maxidot, cruise

All which I've retrofitted, or could retrofit for a lot less than £1500

Can't wait to see you warbling about your 18" anthracites

If you'd actually taken the trouble to read my anthracite thread, you'll find I've not been preaching about them, trying to indoctrinate people into getting them, or saying how marvellous they are. I actually put an open poll up to see who liked them and who didn't. The results are there to be seen. I haven't thrown a wobbler because the vote isn't favourable.

I will be waiting, even when I am asking advice about 18" in future.

Don't hold your breath

TTFN :argue:
