Roomster - Leather Handbrake Cover

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience of a very loose handbrake cover? The one on my car doesn't seem to secured to anything and slides forward about 15mm every time the handbrake is used, and then the release button is obscured. It's a pain. I took the cover off completely today to check what type of fastening or clip might be there, but there's nothing at all. The cover literally just slides off. I think I may have to wrap the metal handle (underneath the cover) with something to make a tighter fit, but it's hard to believe a VW Group car could have such a badly designed part. Maybe there's a piece missing?:rotz:

Nope. Not a problem with mine and it's done 48k. Perhaps you should see your dealer.

Thanks. It's due at the dealer next week for inspection but I have to say the customer service isn't exactly dynamic. I will wait for their opinion but suspect I will end up solving it myself. I tried a couple of covers on showroom cars and as you say, they are solid as they're supposed to be. Makes me think even more that there's something missing. Can't see anything broken or bits of plastic debris when the cover is off.
