MOT ....when?

Featured Replies

My brain has gone ga ga ........sons car will be three years old at the end of the month....so is it due an mot then or is it a years time :o

three years from reg Rob :)

As above, but you can get it done up to 28 days early and you won't lose time on the MOT (eg issued from the due date).

That way any issues can be fixed in warranty.

But can you? I thought it was all computer controlled these days, so the next date would be a

year from the last test?

Can get it done 28 days before, and the computer is updated, and the new MOT is basically "effective" for 13 months. :) Would be a nightmare if you had to do it on the same day every year.

Nope, you can - in effect - have a 13 month MOT.

Good to know, thanks :)
