When we got them on the car the bleed nipple is on the bottom and as far as I know it should be on the top.

There is move travel before they begin to bit but even this morning I noticed I was getting more used to them, will just take time to adjust my right foot.

It will take a few miles to get the pads bedded in, I report back soon.

So are they going green or are the rears going red?

Either way -drool- ;)

Have you not put the callipers on the wrong sides? As you say, the bleed nipple should be on the top or you won't be able to get that last bit of air out. Air in the system = pedal travel.

Havent pushed them yet but first impressions seem very good. Just have to rack up the miles to get them working fully

Did they get fitted to the wrong side then? Surely the nipple should be at the top??

Are they Brembo btw?

Yeah your right. The mechanic put them on using the back connection for the fuild as a guide, facing up. As if he put them on the other way they would not connect to the tube.

I am looking in to this at the moment.

Yeah they are Brembo

yep wrong way around so you will never get all the air out. so will get pedal travel no matter how much they bed in.

look good buddy

Get them painted GREEN lool

green green green

green green green

green green green

green green green

:thumbup::rofl:

dont you need an adapter to connect them mate? thats pos y he put them on that way?

Didn't someone else have a similar issue with Compbrake set up. Upside down iirc

Maybe I dreamt it

The fella who had a ding at the ring ???

Hey that ryhmes lol

Ghetto!

So you will need longer brake hoses then - not too much of a problem I wouldn't have thought.

Yeah, hoses are wrong, needed a set with an inverted banjo connection.

Staying red by the way, its nice to be different :p

lol

OctaviaVRS or something similar,

he had a black one with OZ Superleggeras on it,looked mint. I want some of them brakes lol, they are nearly 900 notes tho ;)

No Billy JOB FIRST

Damn

why not buy the bits from rallydesign to make up your own braided hoses, you can buy all the fittings seperatly and the braided hose is available in whatever length you want, will be a better job and you can then swap the calipers side to side to get then fitted properly..

by the way they wont work as well upside down as they will have 2 smaller diameter pistons trailing instead of leading and the pads will taper out quickly on the leading edge..

Have a set being posted to me tomorrow. The ones I need

A mechanic fitting brakes upside down, whatever next lol

Looking at the direction of the grooves I would say the discs are on the wrong side too, the grooves should face the other direction if that makes sense.

Here is a pic of my O/S front, note the direction of the grooves.

Steve

yep very true well spotted steve

your mechanic hasnt done him self proud has he lol

It's not the first set that I have seen done this way, disks on backwards. It done in the belief that they work better this way.

yes to be fair if you google it there is very little differance in which way they rotate but i prefer them the other way round, did you get the calipers swapped over and the hoses fitted then

  • Author

Not yet. Will be late next week before that's done. Had a small leak on on of the calipers. Pedal feels good now. Getting used to how they feel.

And the feel powerfull
