What Tyres do you use?

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have had a search but cant find any

I am picking up my Fabia on Tuesday (the wife is) and it will need 2 new front tyres very soon. I am calling round at the moment after a mid range tyre and most are saying either Khumo or Marshall who supposedly are a different brand of Khumo.

The 2 tyres mentioned above are coming in at £120 for the pair fitted so not a bad price but wondered if anyone else had any experience with them. In the last few years I have driven on pots and my wife used to have Toyos on her old Golf. We have bought the Skoda to bring down driving costs so I dont want to spend a fortune on tyres. Any help would be great, thanks

The two most recommended tyres are Toyo Proxies T1r and Uniroyal Rainsport 2.

I did a poll and the Toyo's won.. but they're soft and don't last a massive amount of miles... (on the front, anyway)

Now run, quick.. go find as many kittys as you can and guard them with your life! ;)

Oh, and check out Camskill.com & Black Circles.

Too late, I've hunted them all down! Nom nom nom!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....

oh well.

blimey, dont I look like a c**k lol

I did honest press search, must have used the wrong words or possibly cant spell tyre

Cheers for the links bigw and for the poll link reflex88

Are you getting a vRS, because 90% of those above threads will be for them. There are not many threads about non vRS tyres on 14 or 15 inch wheels. If so Vredesteins are very good.

Did you do a search for Tires instead of Tyres and therefore got no results? People on here usually accuse you of killing innocent Kittens if you do not use the search button correctly, normally if there is a thread about tyres..

Kumhos on mine - and not bad for the money

Went with tyres, but I am just crap lol

I have been using the search quite a bit as I have quite alot to look up. Its a VRS that I am getting. Its not modded what so ever and I dont really have plans to do anything apart from sort the wheels

 Just messing, hope they help.

well I'm skint, and just needed 4 tyres (ask Gilly about my frightening moment chasing him in the rain at Pauls camping meet!) so being skint I went for "budget" at my local place £50 each fitted (205/45/17) and they are nankang NS2's... XL so nice hard sidewalls, admittedlty only driven it in the dry so far, but they are perfectly good dry tyres, good turn in, hard sidewall...... will just have to wait and see how they go in the wet!

best reviews I've read are for the rainsport II's... I personally like the goodyear F1's , they are one of my favorite tyres :)

A local dealer did me two Yokohamas for mine (Fabia 1.9 TDi) on the front at about £50 a piece. Best tyres I have ever had. Noise is much lower and the grip, pretty amazing really. Yeah I can get cheaper, but these seem like really good kit.

Course fella, thanks for all the links

Kumho or Hankook HTH

Where ya getting the car? Will they not put 2 tyres on for you? Most places do if the tread is below 3mm...

Its an independant. I negotiated a cheaper price becuase I would sort the issues. Its not a problem as I am sure I would save more than if he sorted it as I would have to pay something on top to cover his costs. Just 4 days now, well 5 as the wife will be picking it up and sorting it
