Top Ten Mods for a Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

HI,

had my fabia for over a year now and am starting to modify it this has started with a set of wheels and i have just ordered a Whiteline rear anti roll bar, am also going to carry out the short shift mod (cut an inch off the gear stick shaft). but what i want to know is what are the best mods that can be carried out on a fabia without costing the earth and which of those give you the best value for monney.:)

First of all, check out this thread

Common modifications:

1. 312mm brake upgrade from Mk1 Audi TT, Mk1 Octavia vRS etc. - you're looking at £300 fitted if you drive a hard deal I'd guess. Sounds a lot but in my opinion if you do it when you need new discs and pads anyway it isn't that big an outlay.

2. Anti roll bar (looks like you've already done this) - £90 or £200 depending on if you go whiteline or jabbasport

3. Seat Cupra console bushes (rear bushes on the front wishbones) - search for cupra wishbone bush for more information... these are best replaced when your original bushes wear out.

You could go for some other modifications such as aux in socket, ipod control lead, nicer sound system..

Bang-for-buck you could look at remaps or tuning boxes, but these are a fair amount of money considering...

For a Fab vRS id have to say the top mod in my eyes - when your looking at gain versus value has to be the Cupra splitter!

For twenty notes it finishes off the vRS bumper perfectly!

I dont like it on the non vRS bumper, id spend my £20 elsewhere but in my opinion - its the best £20 spent on my Fab!

But it don't make it go faster!

The question had nothing to do with making it go faster?!?

Makes it look faster!

is it worth up rating the standard brakes for bigger ones i have heard that the standard ones with a decent set of brake pads can make all the difference?

In no particular order, and no thought of "bang for buck"

1) Jabbasport ARB

2) PD160 intake

3) 312mm brake upgrade

4) coilovers/FSD Koni combo

5) Front mounted Intercooler (or pikey mod in wheelarch if never going to be done)

6) Decat & mufflerectomy

7) Hybrid turbo

8) Cupra splitter, for looks only

9) panel filter

10) Remap of some sort, from somewhere reuptable

Chavy Modder. White stripes over the car makes it look faster too:rofl:

I don't do "Makes it look Faster" mods. But I do "Makes it Stop Faster".mods. 312 brakes are brilliant.

I had Ferodo pads on the standard discs and they had plenty of bite, though fade is an issue if you are doing some hard driving.

My next mod would have been the eibach pro 20mm kit. Primary reason being the gap between the wheel and the arches is HUGE. At the same time i would have got the eibach spacers to improve the stance.

PCV Elephant Hose to stop blowby gasses clogging up the EGR/Turbo/Inlet Manifold. Function before form

I have to add silicon aero wipers to the list

I thought they'd never be worth twice the price of standard ones but boy-oh-boy are they awesome.

All of the things in Jason's list (and the mods in my sig) are brilliant but prove worthelss on a rainy day if you can't see where you're going!!!

oh and better headlight bulbs get a metion from me too

1) Advanced driver training

2) ...

3) ...

9) ...

10) ...

Judging by the amount of damage threads floating through here ATM.

The No 1 mod on mine is a full leather retrim by Seat Surgeons. The original black/grey covers were totally impractical and put me off the car every time I got in it. Unfortunately they are too expensive to meet raf tom's cost criteria.

wipers and headlights get my vote followed by 5grand of work on suspension and engine and running gear!!!

£5k?? LOL bloody hell!

think i've spent about £3kish so far and just a remap to go!

oh and in the future a diff but a long way off!

i'd say if you sort the suspension and anti roll bar then it makes the fabia feel like a different car!! a reeet laugh
