Maxidot - can it be retrofitted?

Featured Replies

Sorry if this question has been asked before - I'm fairly new to Skoda and to this forum.

I decided against an Octavia LE (didn't want full leather and couldn't have lived with that dark grey) and went for a CR 170 TDI estate in blue - it has the new 09 facia but not the Maxidot computer that the LE has.

Anyone know if it can be retrofitted?

Is yours a FL vRS

If so then im not sure .

However if it is a pre FL vRS then yes it can be done and quite a few people have done it

Should be possible on a FL, although it will be quite expensive until the FL has been around for a bit.

Yes it can, but probably not by your local dealer.

Mine tried, failed, charged me £120, and then tried to tell me it must have been coded before. It was, in fact, a brand new unit.

I won't name and shame the dealer, but if they are watching, they know who they are !

"Is yours a FL vRS?"

It is and it isn't - Skoda seems to have a piecemeal approach to facelifts. It's got the CR dlesel engine and the new dashboard but not the rest of the facelift (grille etc.).

Thanks

Works out more expensive as a retro fit. If you can order with it, it's much cheaper ;)

Sorry - just ignore everything I've said above - mine's a pre-facelift model with the original dash.

I must learn to read the OP more carefully :o

Not done one yet but the principles are the same, just need willing victim!
