Vrs tdi pd not starting

Featured Replies

As the title says my Vrs tdi pd is not starting very well if left for two or more days, plenty of fuel in the tank but for some reason I can't hear the fuel pump in the tank running for few seconds when turning the ignition on.

As the car is still under warranty I thought all I had to do was to book the car into my local skoda dealer to have the fault repaired. After leaving the car with them from the Thursday to the Tuesday I went to the dealer to pick the car to fully expect them to have found the fault and order the relevant parts to repair the car.

Before I go any further with this story the car has a Super-chip Bluefin but of course I reloaded the original program before the car was handed over.

On arriving at the dealership I was asked to go into the service managers office to be told that there diagnostic equipment could not communicate with my car and had i modified my car? I naturally said no, they then demonstrated the differences between my car and another tdi pd they have. all I can say is that they were able to get full access to the other car and when they plugged onto my Vrs all these fault codes were coming up and they were unable to get full access. After which I could only come partualy clean, so I told them I had tried the super-chip program for one week and had experienced problems and had the car returned back to standard. To which they said the usual warranty being void. They then asked if I had my original radio as I had upgraded from the original radio to the MFD2 and them to the MFD3(Columbus). So I returned to the dealer with the original radio and they were able to get full access with there diagnostic equipment. After which they said they would overlook the fact I had the car reprogrammed once ha ha and order the parts and all the work would be covered under warranty. I would like to find out how the MFD3 had corrupted my car, it was bought from e-Bay from Germany but it is a skoda unit fitted to a skoda car?

My car has suffered from exactly the same issue as have many other 2.0 PD140s and PD170s across the VAG marques. It's got nothing to do with your modifications. See my own thread on the subject...
