Leaking Door Seals

Featured Replies

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has or had a problem with leaking door seals with their Fabia?

I have a Fabia 1.4 16v Elegance Y reg, and it has leaking door seals. I also have a number of electrical faults with the car and was wondering if it could be water leaking onto/ into a loom of wires causing problems.

Does anyone have this issue, or has anyone had the issue but had it fixed? Just some advice would be wonderful, thanks.

everybody has had the issue at some time in their Fabia ownership, loads of threads and how to's on the subject

There is a link to a video on how to fix them in post #1 of this thread:

Door carrier seals

With regard to the electronics it is not unknown for the engine bay wiring loom to suffer from water ingress, usually on the vertical section where it exits the plenum chamber and routes down behing the engine ECU and ABS unit.

My mate (not on here... I have told him to join).. had the water in the electrics problem due to the above cause.

The garage he went to (in his words) Drilled a hold in it to drain the water off and then left it to dry out, apparently this worked and his 2003 1.2htp estate is back up and running again... He also said though that the garage commented that this doesn't fix it for everyone.
