Black and White

Featured Replies

Hi All :)

I have a load of pics on my PC amd i want to view them in a black and white format to see if theyl look good to print onto canvass, what is the best way to view them without going all the way to print?

Cheers

Most imaging software will allow you to view in greyscale, windows photo gallery will allow you to adjust colour under the 'fix' tab :)

Download photoscape here.... Photoscape : Free Photo Editing Software (Photo Editor) Download

It's a free photo editing program that I use all the time. Once downloaded open the editer and you'll find a black & white option in the lower left corner. It also has an option to edit batches of images to save doing one at a time.

Original photos will still be safe in your folder.

Thanks for the replies:)

On any software i have on my laptop i seem to be only able to print in greyscale and not actually view in it!

On a old work computer i had there was a option in photodraw or the like that said view in black and white.

you'll generally have to do a batch conversion and save as a separate file, eg in picassa or the like I think you can do batch conversions

Also, there's no simple "black and white" or "greyscale". The best rendition of something in greyscale isn't just taking the luminance and removing all the colour. You need to emphasise certain colours' luminance more than others to give a more realistic black and white effect.

Most photo programs give you a decent starting point though :)
