Where do you take your cars?

Featured Replies

Alright everyone, just a quickie. Where do you take your cars in and around Cardiff to get serviced/any type of mods done? I always used westec for my leon but they turned into silly buggers so i aint been back. Now i also have an octy 2 vrs pd tdi i will be looking to get the exhaust and what not done soonish.Any pointers an i would be very gratefull, cheers now.

for your zorst mate id recommend LONGLIFE. I had mine made by them before they moved from down by the bay to up carfilly way. and you get a lifetime guarantee on the system iirc.

for mods lol I mainly do them myself but I did take mine in to A&A tyres down neasr the city stadium for the geometry doing after bushes n weitec coilovers. they seemed good. also were recommended by my nabour at the time who works for the Hyundai place in canton lol.

ps whitedove I avoid since they called me a lier, and then the head **** had to appologise to me when I proved there was a problem lol then they even tried chargin me for them to look at it and say there was nothin wrong lol. needless to say I didnt pay lol.

And I would not recommend Lowlife Exhausts :)

Have seen many of their botched jobs which they've refused to honour the repair under their "liftetime grantee".

Avoid!

And servicing, Drake Auto's in Newport are good.

For exhausts I would recommend Gareth at Welsh Coast Customs in Newport, and for servicing and mods I would recommend Gareth at Euro Performance in Llantrisant.

Gareth must be a popular name for mechanics! :)

...or Welsh Coast C*ck-Ups as they've been affectionately nick-named

Really?

I've had no problems with them.

Mostly in relation to their paint and body work

mmm I not had any trouble wi longlife

they always been there for adjustments to mine, been back a few time and notw its all sorted as I wanted it tucked right up but when it got hot it would catch so it took a little bit of a play to sort lol

They dont do wet jobs, Gareth is an exhaust specialist primarily and any work like that is likely to be done by a subby.

Stick to pro speed for the exhaust.

Cheers gents, cheers clay but iam well aware of the wonder that is Whitedove,i was asked to leave there before when i had a issue with the leon, they are shocking! I think with the exhaust its going to end up being custom code or something,i want the DPF removal an remap.

excellent service every time

From my experience's, Prospeed exhausts for any exhaust / pipework and Mechanical work, Indigo-GT in Merthyr Tydfil (had my timing belt and water pump changed there back in November :) )

I agree about Pro Speed - Charle is a top bloke and really does the business. for all the servicing that I don't fancy attempting myself I use ADAR in Tondu, Bridgend(Barry is a top notch mechanic and reasonable too :D) for parts I tend to use the stealers (but I do quote vaparts prices at them and get them to price match :D)

PRO SPEED ALL THE WAY!

Went to him today for a DP and it looks Very well made and is big. He looked at the Longlife Crap thats on there and pionted out that the cat was a cheapo one(it works so not too fussed) and that they have NOT used 2.5" piping like I asked for! The middle bit is 2.5 but the rear silencer and silencer to tail is only 2.25. so its saving up time so I can get the bends over the rear Beam sorted and made 2.5 along with the back box and tail.

But it sounds deeper now and spools up Really well. and it is really smooth now too unlike before where it would hesitate a bit and judder ever so slightly.
