Stage 2 vs Stage 2+

Featured Replies

Harry's car is actually equivalent to a stage 2 on a normal KO4 car, to get 320bhp on JKM's rollers is very good. Stage 1 Revoe'd ko4 cars only give between 270-290 on JKM rollers.

The BYD K04 engine has lower compression ratio than our K03 engine,

Id agree the stage 2 K04 is the equivalent car to our Stage 3 but they are still running a standard HPFP. they get to go to stage 2+ which see figures of 350-360bhp which is supposably ferociously fast.

id be mega chuffed with harrys results though, i know that for sure

I am :)

...but my tyres aren't :D

I don't think it's the compression as such that's limiting the BWA, it might be the high pressure fuel sensor, seems the BYD has a B version and BWA has an A version. There was a thread on another forum where a BYD wouldn't go over 320 with stage 2+ and kept leaning out. They discovered it was fitted with wrong sensor from the factory the one. Of course this is only speculation but kinda makes sense ;)

Micky trust me. You don't really want more than 320bhp!!

I'm right on the limit of whats managable on the road with a FWD transmission, anymore power and you'll just spin the wheels all the time.

The torque is also plentiful - the K04 really is a superb conversion and I think a GTxx would be pointless if you're running it as a street car (lag, then just wheelspin)

IMO it's perfect for the street now :)

Ah yeah to be honest a nice 320 would be perfect and my A sensor is staying in, just interesting that maybe the issue on why our engines don't go as high with same mods.

It is quite well covered on the other forum. ;)

If the map is written for the correct fuel pressure sensor then no problem. In the case of the affected car the map was written for the sensor it should have come with and not the one it had. :)

if it is to do with the fuel sender being different then that should be an easy change, pain int the *** to get to as you have to remove the throttle body, alternator, and a few other bits. (i know as mine had to be replaced and it took forever to do)

But you will still be limited by the compression ratio. going to high will very likely damage the lower internals of the engine,

Harry when you getting yourself a LSD then lad. plus what tyres are you using. if i use my Toyo T1Rs on the front they wheel spin way way more than my ultrac sessantas.

Not for a while...car needs to stay as it is for a bit.

Other priorities etc. :)
