16inch wheels?

Featured Replies

I am in the process of changing from a Honda Jazz to a Skoda Fabia. I have been on a couple of test drives, one in the greenline and one in a 1.4 petrol. I think I'm going for the petrol and I'm wondering about the Fabia III spec. I'm not a very techy person but I'm sure I read somewhere that the 16inch wheels can give a rather hard ride? I have read so much stuff on so many cars in the last few months that I could well be confusing it with another car, so I would appreciate some thoughts from experienced people...Many thanks

The wife's Fabia 2 Blueline on 195/55/15 and lowered suspension is an Excellent Ride. I have a Fabia Vrs on 205/45/16 which is a little hard but I think it suit's the Car,.....Personal choice really...

Well the 16's on the Roomster are fine. It's all down to personal preference

Thanks for the feedbac, maybe I'll drive the poor dealer mad and go for a third test drive, they have a second hand Fabia III so I could have a go in that...now if only I could decide about colours!

White! :)

My Fabia II has 195/55 15 tyres and is noticeably harder (and much noisier) than my previous Fabia Mk 1 on 185/60 15 - (which also may have slighlty softer suspension). I much prefer the Mk 1 for ride quality although the Fabia II handles a little bit better. I wouldnt be happy on 45 profile tyres at all - not to mention that the lower the profile, the more expensive the tyre and the higher the chance of kerbing.

Having said all that, the Fabia is streets ahead of a standard Corsa D on 60 profile tyres - that was HARSH - bouncy over the slightest manhole cover and very stressful - apparently the sports suspension on the sxi is a real bone shaker.

Don't feel guilty about asking them again, make sure you're 100% satisfied before you purchase. I nearly bought a fabia before my octy and test drove it 4 times lol! although i was never going to buy it, the salesman let me have a fair bit of fun in it :D

White! :)

Do you have white? It is one of the three I am trying to decide between ...

White or

Blue with a white roof or

Tangerine

I just keep changing my mind, the white, of course, saves £400 (or £750 for blue/white roof) which would buy a very nice weekenda away somewhere...oh decisions, decisions....

Thanks for all your feedback on tyres. I think you are right, I will test drive the one with the 16inch tyres, I certainly like the look of them but I just want to be sure. Dealer will be pleased  Still, I will buy one in the end!!

got the 15mm lowered suspension and the 16" wheels with the low pros, and the ride is sublime
