FL vRS - Anthracite available?

Featured Replies

Hi,

First post for a while, and sorry if this has been asked before but I need an answer either way fairly quickly.

I'm about to order a new FL vRS TFSI estate with a few extras :D and am thinking of going for race blue. However, although Anthracite Grey was only listed for the LE model, does anyone know if it is possible to order it now on the FL cars as well?? If so, I would probably go for it.

I have Anthracite on my Fabia estate that I'm chopping in and it's a great colour - think it would suit the FL vRS estate nicely.

Thanks. Ordering this afternoon if anyone can help by then!

Sutts, not sure about the FL Anthracites but there are a few Oct II VRSs in Anthracite, look at the Skoda used web pages, I seen one on the way to work yesterday, I would assume that the FL will have the option as it is a standard colour for VRS, it was only meant to be on the Limited Edition but quite a few standard VRS have it, when the brochure says it is not available. I find a used Standard Skoda VRS off the Skoda Used cars that is not a LE to show you .......

Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI CR vRS 5-Dr Estate

This model is noted as Charcoal Grey but is really the Anthracite colour of the LE model below:

Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI CR vRS 5-Dr Estate

Have you considered a Limited Edition as shown above?, although not a FL you are in essence getting a brand new car, with lots of goodies onboard for £16.5K, Fantastic bargain due to the FL model coming out esp if you like the Anthracite colour scheme. You should read the LE threads on the forum if so. Good luck.

Yes it is available in anthracite, colours for the FL vRS are Candy White, Sprint Yellow,Corrida Red,Brilliant Silver,Race Blue,Anthracite Grey and Black Magic Mica.

Just request dealer does a forced manual option request (Just ask to overide NSR order system with code 9J9J)

The option is on the "Build Your Own" configurator (not that that proves anything, it is a bit unreliable)

Excellent spec on the new FL VRS above very nice, here in comparison pricewise is what comes with a new LE on the pre facelift VRS for £16.5K:

2009 Octavia 2.0 TDI CR vRS Estate

36 Month Skoda UK Manufacturers warranty

36 Month Skoda AA UK assist package

12 months road fund licence

Government 1st registration fee

Full size steel or space saver spare wheel: £50.

Maxi Dot: £125.

Black vRS Leather Seats: £800 (Higher spec LE leather seats with numbered car stitching).

Metallic Paint: £400.

Bolero CD/MP3/SD Audio.

18” Monza Skoda Alloys (not as nice as the new FL 18” Neptunes I concede are the 18” Neptunes an option? Or standard?)

LE Badging on rear.

Ok thanks all for your help - sounds like I will be able to order it in Anthracite with a bit of persuasion

BTW, does anything extra have to be added to enable the bluetooth/phone interface with the new Bolero system, or does the dealer just 'enable' it with VAG-COM? I understand that the MDI option relates more to MP3 stuff, rather than the phone?

I did consider the LE model, but really like the FL look, Neptune alloys and wanted Xenons as well. I'm going for the vRS leather and have negotiated a really good deal and P/X on the Fabia.

VRS195, your pics of the anthracite estate just appeared (there were red X's before!). Very nice, I will definitely go for it

You're getting a lovely car dude in a lovely colour, one of the LE attractions for me was/is the Anthracite, I'd imagine we will see a lot more VRSs in that colour in the FL as it is now an official colour Skoda will supply. Albeit a £400 metallic paint option.

After all that I've just spoken to the (very helpful) dealer. He has just come off the phone to Skoda Retailer Support, who state that they cannot order the FL vRS in Anthracite. It did come through on a limited number of pre-FL cars, plus the LE's but is not a generally available colour now.

I've gone for Race Blue (+ heated vRS leather seats, xenons, parking sensors, spare wheel, sunset glass, silver roof rails.

Also been told that manual cars (not DSG) will not integrate a mobile phone via bluetooth with the Bolero, as it has something to do with the multi-function wheel.

Don't ask SUK, overide NSR, I had to do that when I wanted heated seats (which SCZ allow, but SUK disallowed - probably protecting Audi's market share or some such rubbish!)

Get dealer to put ANTRACITE in writing, mind, then when it turns up in "Forest Green" you can walk away ;)

Good to hear that on the continent getting heated leather seats is no problem, but that in the UK - Skoda are trying their best to keep Skoda in line below the rest of the VAG line up. Funnily enough since I got my LE, I have spotted loads of 09 Passat & A4 Estates in Anthracite - maybe the colour is too close for comfort to these "higher end" cars.

Yep Skoda Uk do not list Anthracite for the vRS, only the LE has ever been available in this colour, though mine is a pre-facelift, Jan 09 Anthracite vRS CR TDi and is not the LE. There were a number specially imported for Skoda UK to market themselves, intended for Emergency Services (Police especially) as there had been demands for less conspicuous models for covert use. Apparently the neds had seen through the race blue, black and silver models.

It's not available in the UK.

The dealer *might* be able to fudge the system and get you one, but usually such orders are spotted and non UK spec items removed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Even if you fill in the NSR form, the option will not appear on the ordering system. This method works for some factory options, but the way the system works, you have to pick the colour before you click through to the options screen!.
