new clutch judder?

Featured Replies

hi guys, i have recently bought an octavia vrs which has reciepts for various things including a new clutch fitted about two months ago by an independant vag specialist in chelmsford, essex.

my complaint is that the clutch is realy juddery whilst pulling away from a standstill? normal driving once moving seems fine.

the reciept says the clutch and flywheel was replaced (but supplied by customer).

the flywheel was replaced for a standard one & not the dual mass type.

could the clutch be defective, or installed slightly out of line?

im not sure what to do really as the specialist will surely cover their work?

but how do i determine weither its the clutch itself, or the way its been installed?

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks

nick

Check engine and gearbox mountings for excessive play. If they are OK and it still judders, could be a faulty new clutch, it happens.
