Is this normal?

Featured Replies

Not heard my cooling fans once this summer..

Did check they worked by turning on the AC.. both span freely.

Temp gauge reading normal and gets there at it's normal pace.

All fluids fine. Nothing out of the norm in any way.

I did hear it last summer so not my driving style ;) Even after a 3 hour motor way trip I parked up and no fan noise.

Anyone else just not heard there fans yet?

Usual drowned out by engine clatter!:D

Thought that maybe the case, but not heard a peep once parked up..

I bought it last August and it seemed to cool it's self quite allot once parked up and turned off.. That said, It had a full service in november so perhaps the coolant & air-filter were overdue a change last summer (it went 2 years with out a service before I bought it due to covering under 10k) and maybe now it's just cooling more efficiently.

I never heard the fans on any of my VAG TDIs.

Never heard the fan on my car at all in two years of owning it!

The fans will only kick in if the temp goes too high, if the air rushing through the radiator can keep it there then the fan won't kick in!

Never heard the fans on my old golf TDI or my fabia vrs. Temp guage never moves from the upright position either even in the barmy Derbyshire heat haha.

Only time my engine cooling fan has ever been on to my knowledge has been on track, or sat in traffic in 30 degree heat for an hour :D
