vrs seat comfort

Featured Replies

Am considering changing my mk1 vrs to the mk2 facelift vrs but wondered what you thought of the seat comfort in the mk2. My poor back really needs good supportive seats, tried a type-r today and the seats in those were good but would prefer another Skoda. Wondered how you have found them day to day. Thanks.

love them:thumbup: I have had problems myself with other cars and seats. The astra I once had was so bad for me I had to sell it. I do lot of miles in my vrs and even after very long journeys I have no problems:)

I'm very happy with the seats in my mk2 vRS. As good if not better than any of my previous cars.

I was more than comfortable when driving from Edinburgh to Norwich with only one stop last month.

I regularly do Newcastle to Aberdeen..and the seats are great.. you get your driving position correct and everything else is fine

Some guys on hear find the vRS seats awkward and uncomfortable but in the main they are well liked. I have a long term back problem too and had no issues with them but you have to take a little time to get the seat position 'correct'.

The problem that some people have is the side bolster digging into the underside of the right thigh; this is cured by getting the seat pushed back, with backrest quite upright, so that your legs are pretty straight and you are sitting with a 'knees together' position (as opposed to knees splayed).

Overall IMHO, as car seats go, the vRS seats are pretty good.

They're not bad. Some people find the lower seat squab too long. I did but got used to it.

Lumbar adjustment is not great even if you get one where it does work.

But saying all that I've never had a sore back in the Octy. SWMBO's Tigra kills my back after 20min.

If you have back problems or the seats are a major concern at next purchase, I would suggest finding a dealer who is selling a pre facelift Oct II Limited Edition, I went from a Oct I VRS to the seats below and I am astounded with the difference. To my mind these are the best seats in the Skoda range just now they are a step above the face lift leather £800 option as they offer more support at the side. There are a few dealers around the country with the last of these special edition cars, if the seats are your biggest concern.....
