Are all the old problems sorted in the FL vRS?

Featured Replies

So, having owned a vRS TDI for 2.5 years, I'm about to trade it in and get the facelift one in candy white - but firstly I want to understand if the inherent problems are now fixed - In my current one I had numerous exhaust pressure sensors go, the aircon compressor recently had to be replaced, and I had to replace the turbo as the axle(?) in it was wobbling around all over the place. It seems to me that the air-con compressors are a big problem across the VAG range, as were the exhaust pressure sensors (although I believe there was a recall on that)......so does anyone reckon that in the new FL vRS these problems should be sorted by now?

Anyone would normally say they would not have another one after the recent run of bad luck that I've had in it, but nothing at the same price seems to compare for me, plus the fact that this car has cost next to nothing in running costs compared to other similar cars I've had in the past. (Apart from the depreciation over 75k miles!)....

Am I doing the right thing? :worried:

The FL TDi RS would be a Common Rail so it's a different engine.

Air con compressors do fail, it happens.
