The buggers have reduced the free storage from 1Gb to 500Mb - so I'm over my limit by 75Mb now

I noticed that last night for the the first time - I'm about half way there.

Have you looked into flickr, Rob ?

Just signed up..

No images on there yet :)

Rob, if you get cheesed off with the limits of flickr, I can really recommend smugmug. Yes, it's US$ 40 per year, but it's unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited resolution (well, 12MB per file) and the dog's danglies for hosting IMHO.

I have a code which gives you a $5 discount or you can probably goolge for half price 1st year offers too.

edit: just so you're aware of some of the limitations of Flickr's free account:

- only 100MB upload per month (reset at every month)

- photos are resized for viewing. High-res uploads are kept in case you upgrade, but there is a limited resolution for showing on the web

more here: http://www.flickr.com/help/limits/#65

I'm not knocking Flickr, it's great, :D as long as you don't get caught out trying to upload one more photo that you really want and you can't because you've hit your monthly limit, etc. ;)

I've heard good things about SmugMug too. But if you object to paying anything, consider Picasa as well. 1Gb storage there; don't think there's any monthly limits etc but can't be sure.

Flickr should do okay - I only have 570Mb on Photobucket after about 3 years of use :D

The thing I like about Photobucket is the ability to copy multiple links at once.

Doing that in Flickr takes forever!

And Flickr means you have to spend 30 years picking a Yahoo account name that noone else has

I think I've got an account with all of them :o

In the end, I ditched them, or rather setup the smugmug one because I was annoyed by their respective limitations. I can't remember off the top of my head what it was with picasaweb that annoyed me - I think it was you couldn't organise stuff easily in albums and hide certain photos, or add passwords to galleries to control who has access to the pics.

For linking to photos on forums, they're perfectly usable though :) It's just if you browse galleries you get bombarded with annoying ads that really get on my tits. There you are trying to enjoy a nice peaceful landscape photo and there's this bright red / yellow flashing ad in the corner   :P

Or just use the good one you created in 1997 :coder:

I'll get my coat ;)
