interesting little fact for you! Vrs is quicker than a....

Your sums don't conclude that a Fabia is quicker than a TT V6 though. It's delusional.

Have you had a think about 0-60 times, seeing as you apparently both accelerated from a standstill? Maybe the Audi driver just let you 'win', to make you feel better? :rubchin:

Shurely Shome Mishtake? Aren't there several members of the 'rolled a Fabia' club on here? :D

It is a heavy car that TT - 1523kg!

LOL, but there are plenty on ebay with red stains on and mud on the roof that I've seen

Pyscho....................You may as well give up now before the pack tears you too little pieces

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

bit of a counter productive comment really... thats the kind of comment that ll get the thread locked and for a discussion on the topic to be canceled.

Power to weight only matters up to a certain speed, where outright power will take over.

Look at Top Gear Bugatti Veyron vs McLarren F1... the F1 canes it off the line, due to low weight, then the Bug reels is back in due to massive power.

If a derv powered shopping trolly was the same speed as a 3.2 litre V6 top-of-the-line Audi Coupe, then why would they make it?

The point of the Fabia if you ask me (and no-one ever does) is that you can beat people before they realise they're even IN a race ;)

A conclusion was never made from the sums, infact a conclusion was never made by myself at all. I m fully aware that from a standstill this would have been a completely different picture. Please refer to the amendment made earlier regarding that point.

It's hardly delusional chap, i m fully aware of the facts and the incident that took place, the situation surrounding it and the attitude of both drivers involved.

The trick mate, is to smile smugly to yourself, bask in the glow of the shocked expression on the other driver's face, and never, EVER, mention it on here!

I overtook an M3 earlier in my girlfriend's 1.2 Corsa... the M3 driver was really trying hard to turn the corner into the street from the road he was on. Took him like a king!

Ah fine OK, you've changed your story now. That's for the best - get all the facts out in the open ;)

Have you looked at the title you gave this post? Care to change that as well?

I understand where your coming from but anything from Top Gear i dont take as fact as i m sure others will agree they tend to cloud the truth for entertainment sakes!

Please revise, this was the roadster, some what heavier and lethargic than the coupe. I m not saying its faster or the same speed?! although not sure what same speed means, my claim is that this morning coming back from work, from 30mph to 70mph(ish) the VRS was quicker than the Audi.

I feel it should be shared because clearly people like to turn these kind of discussion in to a play ground arguement hinting at elements of personal defamations of character.

It's no skin of my nose.

I am sure there was a standing order to ban contributers to my Fabia is faster than ...... threads :P

Agreed the idea is to keep the conversation sweet, and polite. Its ok to have your mind on you and to disagree, but really man this is poor from the haters. If you got nothing nice to say dont bother saying it!

Well, not really. My point is that particular clip illustrates the fact that power/weight ratios aren't the be-all and end-all, the advantage does fade away in favour of power.

At 30mph, it's likely that "normally" driven the Audi could have been in 3rd gear, and it's very doubtful the driver would have dropped to first (if indeed any cog swapping occurred) to make the most of acceleration. So compared with a turbo diesel - famous for in-gear acceleration - and one driven by a young person eager to show-off, and fully prepared to accelerate as fast as possible, the Audi driver didn't really stand a chance.

some people can't take a hint :rotz:
