I didn't take any before pics, but my nearside caliper was starting to peel badly, water ingress, etc - not too dissimilar to this one taken from seatcupra net

So I spent a little time yesterday while my new discs and pads were going on, to gently scrape off all the excess lacquer which came off all too easily thankfully. The marks left in the paint were smoothed off with some damp wet & dry which I thought took quite a bit off. Anyway, once I was left with a clean pink'ish caliper I sealed off vital bits with newspaper and duck tape, about 4 thin layers of lacquer with time to dry inbetween each coat. Left the car on an axle stand overnight to ensure properly dry, and this was the result this morning. Much better, although some bits need a proper clean under where I had masked off.

You run your coilovers like that all the time?

That's the max height I can safely run the coilies without incurring arch rub on cornering. One sacrifice needed when running 15mm spacers. Also stops my exhaust rubbing on speedbumps.
