Passed my RoSPA Advanced Driving Test

Featured Replies

I joined the North Yorkshire Group of RoSPA / ROADA last year, and after a number of "observed" drives I took my test tonight.

I'm pleased to say I passed with a Silver - plenty of scope for further improvement - but it has definitely made a big difference to my standard of driving (and helped me overcome some of the bad habits that have developed in the 24 years since my last driving test!)

Many thanks to Jon (TaviaRS) who got me started on this with his Advanced Drivers, Advanced Tasters thread - http://briskoda.net/racing-advanced-driving-techniques/advanced-drivers-advanced-tasters/88418/ - can't believe its nearly two years ago

Well done Andy :)

Congratulations Andy and all the best drivers get Silver on their first test :rofl:

Hopefully the examiner gave you plenty of useful feedback :D Had my three year retest last Monday (can't believe how quickly it came round!) and had a 45 minute debrief about the test and driving in general.:rofl:

All good stuff :D

Well done Andy. Glad to see there's a Briskoda advanced driving chapter in the North as well :D

Well done andy.

It's been over a year since I passed my IAM. Shame theirs no rospa in my area. :(

well done nice to see other members take pride in their driving and hopefully it has taught you something you didnt already know

Well done - shame your good driving can't cancel out others' bad... :rotz:

Well done Andy. I'm working towards some things like this myself.

Not sure if I will actually do the test but plan to do some more taster days etc.

Phil - I did mine with the RoSPA North Yorkshire Group. I get the impression they aren't too busy at the moment, so if you wanted to do they could probably assign you a tutor fairly quickly.

The guy who runs it is based in Malton, so not too far from you. I had a few runs with him and some with a chap near Pickering.

Give me a ring if you want more details

Well done Andy!

Well done indeed :)

Congratulations Andy
